code elements » OpenQA Selenium
A nice overview of getting started with Selenium testing
Logic+Emotion: Specialist or Generalist?
Discussion of generalist vs. specialist sparked by an info graphic by Dave Gray.
Stream based HTML Parser - The Code Project - C# Libraries
Stream based HTML parser using pure .NET/C#. As I've been doing a bit of screen-scraping in C#, I keep needing something similar instead of constantly digging through the strings with Regex's.
ISO Recorder v 2
Easy way to turn a disc into an ISO image for later burning.
MOTORIZED BICYCLE
This guy posts a new bike like this every few months, with different bikes. I'd like to have him put one together for me for when spring rolls around.
Spooky Tooth Cycles - Motorized Bicycles: Gas Powered and Electric Bikes - Motorized Bicycles
A company selling basic motorized bicycles. 150 mpg and a bit of style.
ThinkGeek :: X-mini Capsule Speaker
I've been looking for a set of portable speakers for my MP3 player so I can listen without headphones in a few different places and this looks like a better solution than most.
Dream - MindTouch OpenGarden
RESTful service framework in C# that runs on Microsoft as well as the Mono .NET platforms: Windows, Linux, etc.
Wufoo · Theme Gallery - Custom CSS Form Designs
Nice set of really basic CSS themes. Given how often I'm working on internal web apps that don't have any specific design requirements, this is the kind of thing that can make these quick one-off applications look decent without having to put in much effort.
Psycho Project
I'm a sucker for mindmap tools and this one looks interesting. The fact that it is written for Mono is enough to make my interest nearly inevitable.
Cairo: A Windows Shell Alternative - About
I stumbled across this while looking for something entirely different, but it certainly makes Windows look perrty.
Umbraco - Home
After working with some absolutely horrible ASP.NET content management solutions, I went looking for alternatives to use as recommendations. This one looks promising.
Cuyahoga - Home
Another ASP.NET CMS with a couple of added bonuses. First, is again Mono compatibility as well as database engines other than SQLServer.
Quote: "Cuyahoga is an open source .NET web site framework. It provides content management capabilities and has a modular approach. Currently it works with MS .NET 2.0 with SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL as database backend."
QuickGraph, Graph Data Structures And Algorithms for .Net - Home
I've liked GraphViz since I first toyed with it and often want to generate visualizations of data arbitrarily rather than figuring out how to lay it out, so this library looks interesting.
Quote From Site: "QuickGraph 2.0 provides *generic* directed graph datastructures and algorithms for them. It also comes with algorithms such as depth first seach, breath first search, shortest path, network flow etc…"
iTunes Music Store RSS Generator
This is a straightforward way to get upcoming music releases. I'm going to use this feed to tie into my iTunes library and let me know if there's been a new album released by artists in my collection. I'm not sure how often I'll require an artist to be present in my collection before it shows their new albums. I know that, while I've got individual tracks from some artists, I have no intention of seeking out their new items.
