An Alternate Code of Conduct

Tim O'Reilly has proposed a "Code of Conduct" for blogging. It's fine as far as it goes, but I just thought I'd share the code of conduct I've been using on this site.

Actually, it's pretty much my code of conduct for everything. It applies to nearly every situation and consists of only one principle: only one rule.

While blunt, this rule is found in most of the major religions and is the root of most codes of conduct. It's easy to understand.

Code of Conduct: Rule 0

Don't Be A Jackass

That's it. If you need more, consider whether you're already violating Rule 0 before worrying about Rule 1, Rule 2 or Rule 42.
