Poker Potluck and Poker at SXSW

Tonight is the monthly poker game at my house. We're finally settling into the actual rhythm of having it on a regular basis. It's nice to have a social gathering that comes regularly, but stays near that 6-10 people size. We play for a grand investment of $10 with most people not gaining or losing more than about $2-3. However, we enjoy ourselves and have a good time together.

It's also turning into almost as much about the food as it is the game. The last couple of months, we've picked a theme and had a potluck of sorts. Last month we had chinese with ginger orange chicken wings, fried rice, eggrolls, spring rolls, etc.

Tonight we're going south of the border with Mexican rice, grilled chicken enchiladas, black beans, sweet corn cake and chips with a little "north of the border" salsa from here in town. I made the enchiladas and rice last night to just heat up tonight and it smelled damn good. I'd share the recipes, but I pretty much just dug through the cupboards. Unfortunately, that tends to result in meals that, when they're good, are hard to reproduce, so I kind of hope they aren't too great.

Also, I know that some folks at SXSW are going bowling, but I'm wondering if anyone there is interested in a quick game of poker along the way.

I read a month or two back that there was going to be a poker blogger poker game at SXSW, but I cannot recall where I read it. Surely someone out there is interested in this.
