This link came across my desktop today and so far deals with a problem I've had with Firefox for a while. I tend to leave it running all the time with 5-10 tabs open. It often has over 500MB of memory allocated. That's freaking INSANE. Give this setting a try and see if it takes care of the problem for you. Only time will tell, but it's worth a shot and he claims to have had success.

As part of my modifications to Feed on Feeds (I promise, the rest of them will be coming), I built a bookmarklet that lets me click when I'm on a site I would like to read regularly and it sends the URL to FOF's "autodiscovery" mode. What it comes down to is that if there is an RSS feed on the page, it will get subscribed. It makes adding a new feed based on a site you visit REALLY easy.
See my previous Firefox/Mozilla bookmarklet postings for how to add it. Obviously, you'll need to change the URL to your own FOF installation.
javascript:void(location.href='
http://localhost/feedonfeeds/add.php?rss_url=
'+escape(location))

Among all of the other stuff I do, food and cooking still strike their way into the core of my life. This is due in large part to the fact that, unlike other hobbies, activities and concerns, food isn't something you can leave idle for 2 weeks. Skip eating for a day or 2 and your body will protest extremely.
As such, I'm interested in lots of food topics and food hacks combine my love for a clever solution with my love of food. I grew up cooking, but mostly just doing what had been shown to me. Only in the last few years have I sought out learning the actual "how's" and "why's" of food and cooking.

Whether I actually can make the time to actually do something like this or not, I absolutely love plans, kits and instructions on building stuff. This one's a really detailed set of plans.

It's been painfully ironic having a book on procrastination sit on my shelf, unread for as long as it has. That's further magnified by the fact that it's just over 100 pages long. So, as the first day of my 100 page challenge, I figured I would stop this book's cruel taunting and silence my bookshelf by knocking this one out.
Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time
Turns out it was one of the most useful hours of reading I've had in a while. There's nothing earth-shattering in here. It's all stuff you've heard in one form or other before, but that's the case with almost every book of this type. However, it's strung together in a way that makes it good reading and a really good refresher course and motivator to set and meet goals. As such, I found myself making quite a few notes in the margin and filled most of my notecard bookmark with notes on projects, etc. that I thought up while reading it.
Given how failure is often not due to not knowing what you should do, but being reminded and motivated to do it. I think reading a book like this every few months, whether reading a new title or rereading one, is a way to keep reminding yourself about goalsetting and pursuit. It serves as an excellent catalyst, and I recommend picking up a copy.
